The 5 C's form the five core parts of the language coaching process. Language coaches must meet ethical guidelines and professional standards. The ICF sets standards for ethical behavior as a coach, including general rules regarding confidentiality, privacy, conflicts of interest, misleading advice or information, boundary setting, and exploitation prevention. All language coaches must comply with and follow the ICF Code of Ethics, Standards of Conduct, and Core Competencies.
